Online Introduction to Hope Alive

This online course gives an introduction to the theoretical aspects of Hope Alive.  Participants are required to read the book Deeply Damaged and answer tests questions.

Hope Alive at Mount Joy College

We run an introductory weekend course that will allow trainees to have a taste of the actual Hope Alive  process.

After taking the online course, if recommended, you may apply for Level 1 Training, which is a 6o hour residential training program in which they grow in practical skills and self-understanding.

Upcoming International Trainings

The Hope Alive method is taught by qualified trainers in France, Belgium, Poland, Philipines, and Australia. If you are interested in upcoming international opportunities, please contact us.

Ongoing Education and Supervision

Supervisor Training

Mt Joy College provides experiential training to those
experienced and qualified Hope Alive Counsellors who seek to be supervisors of
counsellors in their own countries. Presently this course entails readings and
2 week residential theoretical and practical training. The emphasis is on
careful observation of counsellor and counsellees in order to formulate the
most helpful and best timed feedback. The supervisor has a heavy obligation to
ensure quality control of the practice of Hope Alive and other programs.

Trainer Training

There is an enormous need for counsellors and plenty of
willing and mature people to train in many countries. It makes better sense to
train the most experienced and wisest supervisors to become trainers for their
own people. Mt Joy College provides a 2 week residential course that
concentrates on acquiring practical skills in the context of up to date
teaching science.

Other Retreats

In line with our purposes and the pioneering spirit of Dr. Philip Ney, Mount Joy College offers a variety of retreats which give the participants the space and resources to grow in maturity and relationship with themselves, others, and God. Our regular retreats, in addition to Hope Alive Retreats, include Artists’ Retreats, and Men’s Retreats. If you are interested in more information about our retreats or the possibility of taking a personal retreat at Mount Joy College, please contact us.
